Parents can use Everyday Graces as a gentle approach to teaching children about manners & habits during the story hour or use in more depth with our Good Manners Teaching Series.

How to Use the Series

​The Good Manners Teaching Series, an enjoyable family together program for grades 1-12, covers these subjects: proper manners, habit study, health, good citizenship, plus an optional etiquette course for girls ages 13 or older!  You will need Everyday Graces with this program. Each book is designed to be used 2 years (or choose 1 year).  Here is how to use the series, plus see the suggested sequence (below). 

  • Book 1 - Lessons cover the first portion of Everyday Graces and 9 habits (plus additional lessons in health). Choose to complete in 1 year (do  2 lessons per week) or choose to complete in 2 years (do 1 lesson per week): Year 1 (Lessons 1-70) and Year 2 (Lessons 71-140). Pre-requisite:  None
 
  • Book 2 - Lessons cover the second portion of Everyday Graces and 9 habits (plus additional lessons in health and good citizenship).  Choose to complete in 1 year (do  2 lessons per week) or choose to complete in 2 years (do 1 lesson per week): Year 1 (Lessons 1-70) and Year 2 (Lessons 71-140).  Pre-requisite:  Book 1

  • Book 3 - Lessons cover the third portion of Everyday Graces and 9 habits (plus additional lessons in health, good citizenship, and an optional etiquette course for girls ages 13+).  Choose to complete in 1 year (do  2 lessons per week) or choose to complete in 2 years (do 1 lesson per week): Year 1 (Lessons 1-70) and Year 2 (Lessons 71-140).  Pre-requisite:  Book 1 & 2

Suggested Sequence

Although designed to use with the whole family (see above), you may wish to know our recommendations for grade-level use.  Here it is!
  • Grade 1 (Book 1, Lessons 1-70) and Grade 7 (do Older Student Assignments*)
  • Grade 2 (Book 1, Lessons 71-140) and Grade 8 (do Older Student Assignments)
  • Grade 3 (Book 2, Lessons 1-70) and Grade 9 (do Older Student Assignments)
  • Grade 4 (Book 2, Lessons 71-140) and Grade 10 (do Older Student Assignments)
  • Grade 5 (Book 3, Lessons 1-70) and Grade 11 (do Older Student Assignments)
  • Grade 6 (Book 3, Lessons 71-140) and Grade 12 (do Older Student Assignments

*The Older Student assignments can be completed independently. ​
